about me

Surface Design + Art + Illustration

Thank you for visiting - I love what I do and I've been creating surface patterns and characters for over twenty years. My designs are digitally created, using Illustrator or made through doodling, drawing and painting.
As well as being a designer and mum, I enjoy drinking tea, listening to loud, experimental music, crocheting, doing embroidery, hanging out in the garden, watching too many BBC 4 music documentaries and binge-eating fudge, though not necessarily in that order.

Recent clients include :

Pigeon Organics

Lilly + Sid

Vital Baby

Hibou Home

Esmimi

Lucy + Yak

Mothercare

My artwork can be found in :

Hello, thank you for visiting my online portfolio. I love what I do and  I've been creating surface pattern designs and characters for over twenty years. Mostly, my designs are digitally created; I love Illustrator cc, as well as doodling, drawing and painting.

As a freelancer, I design for many childrenswear retailers, suppliers and trend sites, creating for clothing, bedding, wallpaper and anything else that might need a character or pattern. Some of my recent freelance clients include Pigeon Organics, Lucy + Yak, Lilly + Sid, Minicool, Mothercare, Morrison's and Hibou Home.

As well as being a designer and mum, I like to spend my time drinking tea, listening to loud, experimental music, crocheting, doing embroidery, hanging out in the garden, watching too many BBC 4 music documentaries and binge-eating fudge, though not necessarily in that order.

My childhood passion for doodling is what eventually led me to graduate with a Fashion/Printed Textiles degree from Brighton University in 1994. I designed womenswear prints and was lucky enough to spend four years at two of the top textile companies in Italy straight after graduating - Vasino Spa and Miroglio Spa.

On my return to the UK, I moved to London to become a fashion and textile journalist. I loved writing, researching trends and styling photo shoots, but missed design too much. So in 2004 I returned to design, this time specialising in childrenswear, which I found so inspiring. From there I went on to design in-house for George at Asda, then Mamas and Papas and Mothercare.

It would be great to hear from you, so please get in touch if you would like to collaborate on a project, see more designs or would like to stock my artwork.
